Soilwater Group Commences Work on the Abandoned Bulong Nickel TSF

Soilwater Group (Soilwater) are pleased to announce to the market that we have been contracted by the Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) to commence initial site investigation works of the abandoned Bulong Nickel Mine Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) and Evaporation Ponds.  This project is the fourth pilot project undertaken by the DMP under the Mine Rehabilitation Fund (MRF), with Soilwater having successfully completed the two previous pilot projects: Black Diamond Rehabilitation and Closure and Ellendale TSF Stabilisation.  The Bulong TSF has had a long history of impacting the surrounding environment and was identified as a high risk abandoned site. The initial work to be completed by Soilwater will confirm the environmental impacts and establish the required works needed to rehabilitate and close the TSF and evaporation ponds.

This is another major achievement by Soilwater and further recognises our operational and technical expertise in rehabilitation and closure.
